We’re supposed to be fasting. The whole church. For 21 days. It’s actually a very simple fast. Beans, rice, fruits, veggies, whole grains and so forth. Nothing fried or processed. That’s how we normally eat. No big deal there. But wait, there’s more: no dairy…or coffee. What??!!?? I was set up for failure before I even began!
We had a beautiful meal of lentils and brown rice with hummus and chapatis last night. This morning, all the nice whole grain chapatis are gone. I am hungry for hummus and what do I have? No carrots or celery. I have tortilla chips. I also have homemade chocolate cake but that’s an entirely different story. Thanks, Amanda.
